GRAPHIC FUN

Everyday occasions are opportunities for artistic expression and experimentation. Design, color, and composition connections can be drawn between my artistic output and applications in graphic design. Working on different projects with different needs provide me the challenge of utilizing whimsical content to create compositonally complex print designs. Cards, books, and pamphlets combine unique graphics to create distsinctive high-quality products that are both fun and modern.
Some work is done in collaboration with my partner Benjamin Ritter, like the holiday card on the right. We were inspired by childhood literature (The Wizard of Oz) and strange memories of driving along the 405 (satellite dishes on rooftops that resembled orgainc growths like mushrooms, poppies, or pimples). The printed cards are double-sided letterpress, metallic ink on Canson paper, limited edition of 100. |

Moving announcement titled after Christpher Cross's pop song "Sailing Away." While commuting to work in Santa Barbara and from home in Los Angeles, Ben and I imagined ourselves as Captian and Skipper on a nautical adventure that took us beyond the sea to a place where dolphins leapt out at sea dogs and jovial bronze women danced on a mythical beach. |

B-day party invitation for Jay Lizo (aka DJ PHID). I wanted the design reflect his love for b+w patterns, xerox collages, and low-budget horror movies. |
