NEVER BEEN BETTER

I am interested in the fragments that we see all the around us, the reworking of narrative structures, and the relations between part-bodies and totalities. Color xeroxes, origami papers, junk mail, and letterpress prints come together like parts of a symbolic puzzle: the graphic unity reminiscent of patchwork quilts. In a way, they are the visual equivalent to one of Jorge Borges's short stories, in which all of the books in the library are speaking to you, all at once. Collages (2005-8) from this series are representations of simultaneity and juxtaposition that characterize a particular moment that weaves together voice and object, text and image to language and sound.
